CONCEPT:

The project prioritizes the use of healthy, low-emission materials that minimize harmful volatile compounds, creating a safer and more environmentally conscious living environment. Handcrafted materials and artisan-made elements were integrated throughout the project to help support local communities and encourage sustainable economic distribution through traditional craftsmanship. Natural wall finishes were developed using pigments derived from fruit-based materials as an alternative to chemical paints, reinforcing the project’s ecological approach to material selection. A dedicated underground water storage system was also incorporated beneath the maid’s quarters to collect and reserve water for dry seasons, providing a usable water supply for up to three months. In addition, the project includes a thoughtfully planned edible landscape strategy, combining agricultural planting systems with landscape design to support daily consumption, self-sustainability, and a stronger connection between residents and nature.
