PTT Head Office Building, Bangkok
2019
The design was inspired by sunlight, clouds along the horizon, and the movement of waves beneath the ocean surface. The flooring pattern was developed from the swirling forms of sea foam rotating within ocean currents, while deep blue horizontal wall surfaces feature iridescent green reflections that subtly shift according to viewing angles and lighting conditions. Curved white ceiling forms were designed to resemble drifting clouds emerging from the sea, accompanied by integrated lighting effects inspired by flashes of lightning across the sky. The overall spatial composition creates an immersive atmosphere that evokes the energy and movement of the natural marine environment. The renovation also focused on enhancing durability and acoustic performance through the use of resilient materials that reduce noise, resist scratches, and allow surface self-repair over time. Anti-static carpet systems were incorporated to improve safety and comfort while contributing additional acoustic absorption and tactile softness throughout the space.
