The residence was designed in a Retro Vietnam style, drawing inspiration from the architectural character of historic Saigon to recreate a nostalgic yet contemporary living atmosphere. The material palette emphasizes brick and steel elements commonly associated with industrial-era construction, reinforcing the raw and timeless character of the space. Existing concrete beam structures were clad with custom steel beam casings to visually lighten the ceiling composition, enhance spatial openness, and discreetly integrate concealed lighting within the recessed steel detailing. The entire interior layout was reconfigured and partially demolished to create a more continuous flow between the dining area, living room, balcony, and kitchen, resulting in a spacious and interconnected communal environment. Large sliding steel-clad partition panels were introduced to separate public and private zones when the homeowner hosts guests, allowing flexibility between open-plan living and more intimate residential privacy.
